Overview
The Nitrox Course (Enriched Air Nitrox Course) is a scuba diving training course that teaches divers to use a special air mixture with a higher oxygen content (typically 32% or 36% instead of regular air, which has 21% oxygen) and a lower nitrogen content.
Advantages of Learning and Using Nitrox
- Longer Dives: Reduced nitrogen buildup in the body allows for longer dive durations within the No-Decompression Limit.
- Shorter Surface Intervals: Reduced surface intervals between dives make subsequent dives on the same day safer and more convenient.
- Reduced Fatigue: Many divers feel less tired after surfacing.
Prerequisites
- Age: Minimum is 15 years by the water phase of the course.
- Certification / Experience / Knowledge: Certification as a NAUI Open Water Scuba Diver or the equivalent is required.
